Why Did You De-Friend Me?

No, I did not remove you as a friend on Facebook. I did, however, deactivate my Facebook account. I didn’t do it as any form of political protest over Facebook’s deletion of breastfeeding photos or because of their Patriot Act-like privacy policy or anything like that. I did it because I grew tired of Facebook itself. The service I always used the most was their status indicator, but since starting to use Twitter last year I have found that my need for Facebook fell to just about zero. I grew tired of all the little Facebook apps and invitations to use those apps.

My social networking is done via Flickr, this blog, IM and Twitter -- if you want to know what I’m doing then follow me on those services or chat me up in IM or email.
